You guys might have seen the Visa advert lately. Well the guy gliding away is Bill Shannon, and he suffers from a disability that affects his hips. He makes crutches look fun to have. Anyway here are a coupl of vids.

Sean Harper - Interview

Here is Sean Harper. A graduate from Southampton University. When asked if a degree is useful in industry this is the answer he gave me.

He also made a good point;

"When you apply for work experience or a job in general, they never ask for a degree, but they ask for 2 or 3 years experience with certain software packages such as; Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash etc".

Is a Degree important in Art and Design Industry?

Well is it?

This is the question everyone seems to be asking lately. The years we spend learning the rules and skills in areas such as Graphic Design, are very likely not to be used in the future. Not everyone in a course will be succesful.

For the next few months I will be gathering primary and secondary information to help me answer this question. Any information I come across will be posted up here.

Joe Madureira

It wouldn't be right if I didn't include this guy in the blog, he is my favourite artist after all.

Madureira has inspired many aspiring comic artists, and thos same aspiring artists, choose to mimic his style in their work, as the bases of developing their own style.

Madureira has worked for the likes of D.C and Marvel, published the master piece, "Battle Chasers", and is now working at his own video game company, with a new game due to be released, "Dark Siders".

Range Murata

Range Murata is one of the top influences when it comes to illustration, character design, and style. He has made his mark in the eastern illustration industry, with designs for the hit anime titled "Last Exile".

He has several art books published called, "Robot". I intend to get my hands on it when I have cash to spare ^^

Since everyone is making a blog jus thought I'd get mine over and done with before I get too distracted and forget.
